Understanding Functional Classification
Course Overview
A group seminar session that explains the principles of functional classification and its role in a holistic records management program.
This course aims to provide participants with the knowledge required to interpret and navigate their way through a Business Classification Scheme and the skills to apply a BCS to organisational records.
Participants are expected to have a basic understanding of records and information management principles, and it is recommended that the Business Information & Records Management Awareness session is a pre-requisite for this course.
This training is tailored to meet the requirements of the State Records Act and State Records Standards and Guidelines, in particular the requirements for creation, capture, disposal and maintenance of records.
