After decades of being the poor relative of Technology, Information is slowly regaining recognition as a business asset that organisations can not afford to take for granted.
Like any business resource (financial, human, physical) information deserves a place at the table and needs to be managed effectively in order for its potential as a business asset to be realised. To this end Experience Matters has partnered with the Universities of South Australia, Western Cape (South Africa) and Lethbridge (Canada) to research attitudes and behaviours towards the management of Information Assets. This ongoing global research conducted amongst a range of medium and large businesses from a wide range of industries provides Experience Matters with invaluable insights that they are able to bring to all their projects.
The collaborative approach is enabling a significant body of data to be collected that ultimately will enable us to better understand the how and why of information management. The opinions of senior executives are helping us understand where the barriers to better information management lie and identifying ways to overcome them. The more data we collect the clearer the picture becomes.
The results of the research have been published in academic journals and are also being presented at numerous information industry conferences in Australia and around the world.
