Experience Matters Continues to Educate on the Value of Real Information Management
James Price of Experience Matters has been working closely with Dr. Nina Evans the Head of School of IT and Mathematical Science at The University of South Australia in recent years on a research project that explores ‘The Barriers to and Benefits of Effective Information Management’. The project is being run in Australia, South Africa, and the United States. The findings have been described as ‘ground-breaking’ by leading American Lean Consultant Mike Orzen while technology research company Gartner have called the work tremendous.
Mr. Price and Dr. Evans recently ran a workshop titled “How addressing the barriers to effective information management will maximise the success of your EDRMS initiative” at the EDRM Australia Conference which took place on the 27th of April 2017 at Mantra on Russell in Melbourne. The hands-on workshop challenged conventional thinking about data, information and knowledge and helped attendees understand what information assets they have in their organisations, why those assets are important and how to maximise the success of their EDRM initiative. This aimed to empower attendees to present to their executive as to why managing information is so vital to the performance of their organisation. In addition it provided a checklist of the barriers to effective information management and showed how addressing these barriers can improve the probability of the success of their EDRM initiative.
